Overall I really like kitchenaid products esp the stand mixers. However with this one it tends to have a momentary pause when making bread with a 62% hydration. I don't know if this is a issue or not as I seem to get mixed answers. I'm having a few problems with support at the moment so I'll not go all the way into it until it's resolved.

BEWARE If your machine leaks oil into the bowl, return it immediately.
I bought this 10 weeks ago. It has consistently leaked oil into the mixing bowl. When I called customer service they said it is not uncommon for them to leak. I think that if this is the case they should have a disclaimer. They told me to run it on speed 10 once a week and that should keep it from leaking. For a mixer that cost $300 plus, you should not have to maintain it on a weekly basis. I had a $40 generic stand mixer for four years and never had to clean the bowl before using or run it at top speed. When I asked to return it I was told there is a 30 day return policy. I tried to give it time to resolve the oil leak problem itself which only ended up making it where I couldn't return it at all. Buyer beware. Forewarned is forearmed. Wish someone else would have posted this issue for me to read.

My first encounter with a KitchenAid Hobart product was a garbage disposal in my parents home. I was very impressed of the lifespan of it in addition to the dishwasher which was a KitchenAid also. In my professional career I had the opportunity to use a 7 quart stand mixer. It was love at first sight. then when I was assigned the task for preparing various recipes for the catering functions I was even more impressed with how quickly and swiftly that it blended the ingredients basically stating it took the drudgery and the hard work out of preparing meals. So my life goes on things change but I never forgot the initial encounter with KitchenAid and Hobart. so when it came time for my residence to have a new stand mixer I've been through three of them an Oster and to sunbeams. I finally took the leap and went straight to the KitchenAid stand mixer nothing else was going to fill the space on my counter other than KitchenAid I stuck to my guns and I am very very happy that I did. Preparing the recipe for angel food cake it's done basically in the blink of an eye same thing with pulling together cookie dough or whipping whipped cream. It is done in a matter of seconds. many thanks goes to all of you there at KitchenAid and Hobart for directing me to the Department of your clearance refurbished appliances Department least I forget thanking you for allowing me to do business with you direct from the factory you saved me quite a bit of money on my operating household budget. Moments like that are not soon forgotten. I even own one of your little food chopper food processors and my ex-roommate put it to a weird test she made leaf mulch using it and that's what greeted me when I came back from the grocery store. I looked in horror as she is taking tree leaves Eminem singing I'm up with my food processor it has survived and works quite well in spite of the fact of her misuse of it.

I've had a 4 qt. bowl mixer for about 40 years, and adore it - it still works like a charm. My husband found this at great price, and I am thrilled he bought it for me. I love the huge bowl and the stainless paddle, as I've replaced the paddle on my original one 4 times. I also love the "slow start" feature, as it cuts down on dry ingredients flying out of the bowl. I haven't tried making bread yet - that's on the schedule for this weekend! VERY thrilled with my gift!

I bought the 7-quart mixer to supplement my 5-quart. As a home baker who has severe arthritis, I can no longer make bread by hand. My 7-quart mixes the bread and pastry doughs quickly and efficiently. I love my mixer for so many reasons: the power, the quietness, the capacity, and the slow stir. I also bake for large groups of people at a time. Making multiple batches of cookies at a time is wonderful. I let one of my friends borrow "The Beast," last week. She was so thrilled, she called me on her way to the outlet store to buy one for her own. I couldn't be happier with my mixer.

I previously owned a refurbished 6 quart KA mixer for 25 years which was a workhorse, especially when Christmas came and I was compelled to bake 60+ dozen cookies in the space of 3 days. After rebuilding the motor twice, my husband agreed that it was time for a new one. In the week that I've had it, I've made cookies, a cake and some brownies and I must say, it outperformed my previous mixer, both in shortening mixer time and how well it attended the dough. I especially enjoy the fact that the mixing bowl and two of the attachments can go in the dishwasher. Of course, the real test comes in a few weeks with those holiday cookies... fingers crossed!

Looks nice but severely underpowered. Would not recommend for doing much more than loose batters and whipped cream. Do not attempt pizza dough or any bread dough, motor will slow and you will burn the gears up.

We had one of the smaller 4qt mixers for more than 30 years. Not only is the 7-qt a larger capacity, it is quieter than any KitchenAid I have ever used. The flap for the attachments is also much better than the removable medallion. Great machine!

I do a few charity bake sales each year and work with 10 other women in my small kitchen to make about 800 mini pies, cakes and cheesecakes in the course of 3 day. My old Kitchen Aid had a much smaller capacity and after 15 years of hard work the beater shaft cracked.So I replaced it with the refurbished 7 Qt. model. We were able to do double and triple batches with ease so this really speeded up our work. I've never purchased a refurbished appliance, but since this came with a 2 year warranty I decided to take the risk. I was pleasantly surprised when I opened the box and everything was just like new. There was nothing about the base or attachments that looked used and it runs perfectly.

My old artisan mixer had a small technical issue, so I called Kitchenaid to see if they could possibly fix it. Instead, they gave me a credit to buy anything I wanted on Kitchenaid.com!!!! Of course, I opted to pay a little extra and get this beauty!! It came in 2 days and is absolutely gorgeous... YOU CANNOT TELL IT WAS REFURBISHED! I almost feel like this was sent by mistake... it's so beautiful! There are NO SCRATCHES, NICKS, BUMPS, NOTHING! Just look at her!! She's so quiet and whips up whipped cream in 10 seconds! I am in awe!!!

I use this for mixing bread dough and I've used it once for grinding pork loin. Great machine, only give it 4 stars because I'm waiting for the 7 quart glass bowl to be offered. I would like to use this for mixing my sourdough starter but I can't do that with a metal bowl. So aside from that - highly recommend!

I'm not sure why anyone would buy new. My mixer arrived in nearly perfect condition. It took a few days to notice only one very minor scratch. It replaces a 5 quart Artisan which provided very good service. However, the 7 quart is stronger and much quieter. I couldn't be more satisfied.

Got this at Branson and since I am a cake decorator it will come in handy. I had another smaller one I got many years ago in Indiana and gave it to my daughter when she was here for Christmas. I purchased my second Kitchen Aid mixer 3 months ago and am very satisfied! The associate at the Kitchen Aid store in Greenville, Ohio was most helpful and kind. I hesitated buying a refurbished appliance, but have no regrets. As a mother of 5, I needed a heavy duty mixer that could not only mix large batches, but was strong enough to stir the stiffest doughs. The deep sides of the smooth mixing bowl is perfect for making double recipes. No mess mixing makes for easy clean up. In addition to being powerful, it is amazingly quiet. I would highly recommend the 7 qt Bowl Lift Stand Mixer. Its a great addition to any working kitchen.

so far happy with 7qt mixer, just waiting to put it to the test and make Divinity, this puts a mixer to the test, you must have more horse power and tork, the last kitchen Aid mixer lasted 10 years but always had a tuff time making Divinity. Probably wont wait till Christmas to make it, hopefully soon.
