I have already reviewed this item once and Maytag didn't publish. After a year of problems Maytag finally replaced my fridge with another of the same model. Basically the freezer section gets too warm and melts the ice and frozen food. We went through a year of service calls and were not able to use the freezer. The replacement which has been here a month has done it once. NO I do not recommend this product.

Fridge is a lemon and Whirlpool won't take it back

Beyond disappointed. Replaced a 32 yr old fridge that performed better than this. Refrigerator less than one month old and has not worked since day 1. When setting at even the coldest setting, actual temperatures are in the mid to high 40 degrees. Not even in the safe range. We have no place to safely store food at home right now. Maytag has sent service but will NOT replace this lemon of a refrigerator. We have purchased six appliances from them within the last year and this is the first where we have had an issue. So unbelievably frustrated and disappointed - out my money, time and still do not have a solution with them. Not sure what my recourse is at this point. Pleading with them to please help!

A year of problems!!

After a year of service, replacing parts, we are still unable to use the freezer section of this appliance. The temperature continues to rise to the point that frozen items melt. We had to throw away food in both the fridge and freezer several times. Now we just don't use the freezer. The service fellow has been awesome! We've just had to have him come out way too much. He has really tried to fix the problem. So disappointed in this maytag appliance. We are hoping maytag will just replace the appliance, so far they don't seem anxious to do so. If we had not had an old fridge in our garage we couldn't not have made it through the last year with this appliance. I finally reported it to BBB and got a call from Maytag. We will see.

Best Refrigerator Out There Right Now

I read reviews on hundreds of refrigerators for a few months. I decided on the Maytag counter depth. I'm glad I did. The only bad things the reviews said were noisy it is NOT you don't even hear it. Also the reviews said water drips on water dispenser .It only drips right after you fill the cup and it stops. Love the counter depth in my galley kitchen. So Pretty !! Also love the meat drawer. I can fit 2 gal. of milk in the door together. Great space inside. Keeps temp lots of ice.

We bought the Maytag because it at least has a 10 year warranty on the compressor. Only buy this fridge if you enjoy a high pitched whine from the compressor. We were replacing an 18 yo Maytag with this updated model; it was very disappointing and not something we could listen to. Maytag says this is a ™€œknown issue™€ that is not fixable. Why they think it™€™s ok to sell is beyond me. Had to be returned- pay close attention to appliance return policies!!!

I did quite a bit of research before purchasing this Maytag French Door Refrigerator. My kitchen is on the smaller size and I love how this looks in my home. I love all the features on this fridge. I had a side-by-side before and was concerned the bottom freezer would not hold many items. It holds more than my previous freezer and I love having the ice machine at the bottom.

It's fragile

I really like this fridge because it is easy to see things in it and the shelving can be adjusted to accommodate your particular style of storage. However, I paid $1800 for a refrigerator. That seems ridiculous. And the shelving is plastic and will break easily. I have to treat this thing with a lot of care so as not to chip off the cheap thin plastic edges of the shelves and the drawers. I do not think this fridge is going to wear well. Because the thin plastic edges of the shelving are going to break easily just like my last fridge. And there does not seem to be a lot of support for the shelving so I am hesitant to put heavy things like a gallon of milk or a roast in a pan on those shelves. The doors are a little hard to open and close they seem to get stuck and don't fully close very easily. The sides of it are a painted gray not stainless it is only the front that is stainless. So it's not truly a stainless refrigerator. I like the pull out freezer with the two levels of storage. However the light has already started blinking off and on and the refrigerator is only a month old. I do like that the ice tray can be turned off so that you don't have to pull up on the wire to stop ice production and therefore obstructing your storage room. I really want to like this refrigerator better but I am just afraid that it's going to start deteriorating rather quickly because of the cheap plastic Used in the interior portions. It is a counter width which gives me a little more room in my galley kitchen but it is also about 6 inches taller than most refrigerators so it obscure my view of the clock on the wall above it. This is something to keep in mind if you might have Cupboards above the fridge or a small area with a limited overhead height. Hi

Didn't meet my expectations of a Maytag

Replaced a Viking that is literally the same refrigerator, shelves door pockets, etc. are interchangable. The construction seems flimsier, doors are much lighter. The freezer drawer seals fine but is uneven on the left vs, right side and after I inspected the appliance and signed off, I noticed a dent from an awkward angle (now I can't unsee it).

Does what a fridge should do but..

This refrigerator is exactly what it states in the description however you lose a lot of space due to the way the door baskets are and the shelves. You have to be careful because the baskets towards the bottom of the door butt up against the fruit/ vegetable baskets. The fruit/ vegetable baskets tend to get loose and shifts out a tiny bit and thus when you go to shut the door it can cause a small gap that isn't alerted and decrease coldness. The top shelf is limited especially near the filter, rendering that space unusable unless you remove that shelf and then it would still lose workable space. The shelves do not extend fully towards the back of the fridge, thus limiting a lot of items that can nest towards the back without falling down.

Noisy Fridge

Unfortunately, this is the noisiest fridge we've ever owned. We just had the noisy motor replaced, and the brand new motor is already starting to make some noises. This is what happened with the first motor - the noise got worse and worse over an 7-month period until we replaced it.

This is a lovely-looking fridge and does everything one would expect, including dispense filtered water. The only problem for me is that the freezer drawer means that it's hard to get to things that are at the bottom.

i am most impressed the refrigerator temperature is consistent as set. Previous brand would freeze foods in the back of the refrigerator. I was constantly throwing about lettuce and some produce. It is working very well. Just one thing noted but can live with it. The shelves do no have back stops so things can be pushed up against the back. I noted in the comments about the enamel sides rather than stainless. This is counter depth so it is covered by the cabinet and is not noticed that much. Right now, pleased with the performance.

We have had this for just little over month now. We purchased it because it was one of the few that would fit in the space we have. I am not pleased about how the doors shut. Or I should say don't shut. You have to manually shut the right door after each opening. We do like the "true" counter depth though and we like the water dispenser being on the inside. Overall it's a good refrigerator for singles or couples because it is on the smaller size. Just disappointed with how the doors operate.

I've owned this fridge a little over a month, so this review is based solely on cosmetics. I like everything about it so far, especially the fact that it is not loaded with electronics. The box that I had previously (a high end Bosch) had an app that allowed me to change the temperature from my phone and all manner of things; however, the compressor lasted just 3 years, so the electronics were useless; nothing but a sales pitch. I love the appearance of the Maytag and the ease of re-configuring the shelves. It's easy to operate, the ice it makes is great, and I feel great about this purchase; I hope I still do in ten years.

We got get rid of Samsung French door refrigerator because of problem with ice maker. Got tired of fixing the problem Went out bought MAYTAG counter depth French door and loved it. Ice maker are inside the freezer better than outside of the door. We are happy with it. It match all other Maytag appliances we have 👍

It looks fabulous. It works great. It™€™s a Maytag. And, the stainless steel is so easy to keep clean, it doesn™€™t show fingerprints at all. I will never buy another brand. Maytag is reliable and dependable. My parents had a Maytag washer and dryer for over 40 years.

refrig works as expected except internal water dispenser drips at night for no reason. Not a big mess just a couple drops but nothing to catch it.

We like everything about our new refrigerator, but the ice holder takes up too much room. It should be much smaller. The door is a bit uneven and the installer is not responsive to our request to come back and even the doors.

I wish I had realized that the shelves didn't go all the way back before I purchased. Also the right door does not stay open. I am told that is how they were made.
