I just bought this and so far I love it. I did have a problem with the ice maker being faulty, but it was replaced quickly and has been working great. I read some reviews that said the water dripped down the front of the refrigerator door, but I have not had anything like that to happen (it was explained to me that once the air was out of the lines it shouldn't drip and it didn't). I hope this gives me good service for years to come.

We bought this refrigerator a month ago and I have 1 big complaint. I don't know why they have fixed shelving They don't know where we need our shelves spaced at. I'm short so having the taller space up on the very top isn't practical for me.

It is early yet™€¦.We really like the refrigerator, but I don™€™t know how we missed one HUGE detail. The shelves are not adjustable, and that is a major pain for our purposes. Had I noticed this, I would not have bought it. One other thing is that there a a manufacturer ™€œsticker™€ on the front that says Maytag, and it™€™s crooked and it drives me nuts. We ordered a refrigerator from a big box store, so we didn™€™t see the sticker until it was delivered. I noticed it right away. Just seems sloppy.

I bought this a month ago. Same model to match my other kitchen appliances. My 1st one ice maker made it 3 years it was $800 to replace freezer door. Then fridge was dead at 7 years. This one I just bought is more cheaply made than the 1st one. No trim on the interior door bottle holder bins or example. Just Sharpe clear plastic. Looks nice on the outside. Everything else seems lower quality than older Maytags that would last 25 years.

We bought this fridge after our previous fridge of 20 years stopped working. After 2 months we realized it was a lemon. The ice stopped dispensing. Then it stopped producing ice. The fridge did not keep the foods cool enough. The freezer got too cold and froze the water line. We called Maytag for help and a repair tech came out. He made an adjustment and it worked for 2 days and then it no longer produced ice. We noticed a small scratch in the lining of the fridge. We were told that we should get an extended warranty. We bought the expensive extended warranty from Domestic and General that Maytag recommended. We had another issue where the ice stopped being produced and we also noted a new crack in the lining of the freezer this time. We called Domestic and General and a tech came out and replaced the icemaker. He also said that the crack in the freezer could not be fixed and we should call for a replacement unit. I called domestic and General and they said he didn't put notes in yet. I called a second time and was told that the notes did not reflect what I was told. I was told that they could not help me. I called Maytag for help and they sent back to Domestic General. No one will help. This is a defective unit. The latest finding is that we have shaved ice all over the inside of the freezer. I do NOT recommend this model and I don't recommend the extended warranty that Maytag suggests.

I wish I would have not been in such haste to just purchase a side by side. I was in a hurry because my Frigidaire's compressor went out after only 5 years of purchase. I would have picked something else more to my expectations. The ice maker is too big. It is a feature that is not needed for me. I would have preferred an extra shelf for storing food. In fact I had the installer turn the ice maker off. Now it is just taking up unused space.

I love the ice in the door and the ice cubes are smaller than what I used to but I think they are perfect! Our old Maytag refrigerator died, so we purchased a new one (Maytag) with similar features. The main feature of the new frig that we were disappointed with is the loud noise the ice maker makes when it dumps a load of ice and also when you fill your glass. Also, the ice maker will not fit a tall glass to fill. When filling a glass with water at night, there is no light to see the depth of the water in the glass.

Have had this refrigerator about one month now. Had a small problem with the unit coming away from the wall too easily when opening a door as there is no wheel lock. The delivery crew returned and I suggested putting furniture cups under the from two wheels instead of screwing anything down onto my tile floor. They thought it was a good idea and it has stayed stationary since but can still be pulled out with more force if needed. Also, it stopped making ice after a week. Before calling for repair I turned the ice maker off then back on. That made the tray change direction but still no ice. So I turned the breaker off for 5 minutes and turned it back on in hopes of resetting it. About one hour later it was making ice and still is a week later. All good. Even with these minor issues I'm very happy with this refrigerator and love the layout and appearance.

Unfortunately this is the 1st Maytag appliance of 7 that I have purchased since my initial purchase in Dec, 1984 that has not been great from the start. Purchased this frig 05/23/25 with delivery 05/31/25. Initially icicles formed at the top extrusion of the freezer door on top "ceiling" edge near that area with a frozen dime "puddle" on the ice cube compartment just below those ceiling icicles--- also had frost build-up in the ice cube dispenser shoot on the door. Repairman came 06/26/25 & replaced the ice dispenser mechanism which solved the frost, but the icicles & frozen puddle are still forming. Called today 07/14/25 & the phone rep told me to turn down both fridge & freezer setting to 3 bars and to make sure there are not packages in the freezer blocking the vent under the top shelf... and to wait 24 hours to see if that resolved the issue... if not I am to call back.... This fridge is a replacement for my prior 2003 Maytag Wide-By-Side 27 cu. With this issue idk that this Maytag will last that long since ice forms from moisture in the freezer which I open 2x per day.

Defective from the start. DO NOT BUY

This refrigerator has been a nightmare and Maytag refuses to address that they clearly sold a defective product. We purchased it directly from Maytag 1.5 yrs ago. Within 4 months the freezer stopped working. Tech came and replaced a part they thought was defective from manufacturing. 6 months later, same exact problem. At that point the local tech from a Maytag licensed service company determined that most likely there was a refrigerant leak inside the walls of the refrigerator that was slowly leaking. Nothing that he could do besides fill it back up and let it leak again. When he contacted Maytag they refused to agree and said basically it would need to fail again. Well it has, 5 months later and Maytag continues to refuse to acknowledge they clearly sold us a defective product. The only thing customer service would offer when I called was an out-of-warranty service appointment (eg I would need to pay hundreds of dollars to fill the refrigerant back up this time, knowing it will slowly leak again and I would need to pay hundreds more dollars in 4-6 months to repair again) OR a 20% off code to a new refrigerator. Given that Maytag refuses to stand by their products and acknowledge that they sold us a defective fridge there is no way we will purchase another appliance from them.

New out of box I plugged it in and something shorted out. There was a "sizzle" noise and a spark and smell of burnt weirs. I then took bottom cardboard cover off to discover it was banged up and dented all over on bottom. And I couldn't find any burnt wires. I know I seen a flash and smelt burnt wire. So, I plugged it in again and it came on. I feel like I'm just waiting to burn down. I have to have a fridge. looking more closely at the fridge it look like it was put together by 7 year old. All emblems are crocked, and screws stripped out. I feel like I need to send it back. I defiantly expected more out of Maytag.

Nice delivery of Maytag side by side refrigerator. works well to refrigerate items on right side keep foods frozen on left side. However, prints/marks are left and no sample special cleanser was provided. Also,I noticed later that the doors of the Maytag are not totally level & the "foot" on the left side has wires exposed. Is this usual? The icemaker works well now. I haven't used the water dispenser yet.

ice maker opening needs to be bigger in height. sometimes hit the water dispenser when trying to get ice.

Poor design on the water dispensing system. The water running into the icemaker would flow everywhere but the icemaker. The Icemaker is very noisy since the flow issue was resolved .
