An accident waiting to happen.

This stove, WEC310S0LB2. s/n RD0211760, seemed to be very nice when we bought it. 11 months later a large burner started glowing red-hot while set to LOW and it was repaired for free under the terms of the Warranty. One year later the same burner now glows red-hot when set to LOW and Whirlpool quoted two options to repair it. $480 ($40/mo for 12 months) for an Extended Warranty OR a flat-rate repair for $398.87. I wouldn't mind paying for one repair but an annual fee for a manufacturer's defect seems a bit unreal. I have documented the previous Job Number and I still have the original (failed) box and part because I requested to keep it after last years repair. There is no false information here. So you must ask yourself if you want a high-energy ignition source running amok in your kitchen. If not, perhaps you can find a manufacturer who delivers quality, reliable, safe products and stands behind them.

I bought this range to replace one that was not as tall as my cabinets. Only 4 stars because I didn't like the coils with the middle button and the pans so I replaced them. I am also going to replace the knobs with smaller ones. The range bakes and cooks great!

Has potential to be a good stove but!!!!

I purchased a few weeks ago and have several problems. The service department has replaced the controller for the oven. The light to the oven controller had to be replaced.. We also experienced the the oven door raising up after we you put it down. This appears to be a recall. The oven not working has hindered Christmas cookie making. I am also disappointed in not being able to get an owners manual. When I put the model into your system it does not recognize., so owner manual.

The day my range was delivered and set up I cleaned the surface. It looked like there was tape residue on the area where the burner controls are. I used Goo Gone but that did nothing. I rubbed with my fingernail and the black finish came off! A service technician is coming on Monday to replace that panel. Will wait to see how that goes. Very disappointed!

Have several weeks experience with this range and it works as advertised, a good range. I would have rated it 5 stars but the audible alert can't be increased in volume and this is a problem. One has to be in the kitchen and paying attention to hear the beep. Entire family agrees.

Slide in , free standing range

Very happy to have coils, but disappointed to not be able to lift the lid/stove top to clean out when something boils over unexpectedly. Coil pans do not clean up easily and can not get a manual beyond the one that tells minimally about the stove, but not what certain parts are, like the buttony thing in the middle of the coil and how to clean that. Drawer is significantly smaller( not as long as my last slide in, which I missed in the info). The fact that the range advertises as a slide in and then in some places a freestanding made installment an extra expense, as delivery could not install, as well as measurements not as advertised. I took the old stove I was replacing manual into the store to make sure it would be easy. Found a form online, to help pay for this fix, but it does not look as good as one that sits on top, and if I knew it wasn't, from phone discussions, I could have paid 1/3 the price with all headaches eliminated and just bought a regular free standing. Have had it about a month and works so far. Also getting different answers from Whirlpool as to what the surface exactly is.

Not made for shorter people.

I was excited to be getting a new range, as our oven quit on the Whirlpool range we bought 14 years ago, which we were very happy with. I am 5™€™ tall and this is definitely not made for shorter people. I can barely reach the back burner, and while trying to use them, I am leaning so low to the front burner, that it is actually dangerous. Also it is uncomfortable having to be in a bent over position.My face is directly over the front burner, and I got a blast of heat and steam in my face. I can not reach to the back burner to place a larger pan of water on to heat for tea or to see what is in a deep pan. The stove sticks out so far I can™€™t reach the switch or outlet on the wall. I am so frustrated and dread using this stove every time I cook. I found it is unsafe for shorter people. We use cast iron pans almost daily, thus we needed a coil burner, and not a smooth top.

Knobs too big

I tested this in the store and the only thing that™€™s keeping me from buying this stove is that the knobs are too big and interferes with the movement of pans. I found that I was constantly knocking my hands against them and would be afraid that my sleeves would catch on them. This is really too bad as it™€™s the only stove that came close to meeting my needs for a front controlled coil electric range. I hope Whirlpool is reading this and will consider a redesign of the knobs. There are still plenty of us that need these coil top ranges.

Very nice stove. The reason I gave it a "4" is because I am short and where the controls are, it sticks out some that I can't reach the back of the stove to clean it. Otherwise it works great.
